Beginning the Credentialing Process

Yesterday I completed one part of the credentialing process by finalizing the CAQH Provider Data Portal. As I understood it, this is a centralized website that eliminates duplicate paperwork with insurance panels. This website has a copy of the necessary documentation pertinent to your professional  licenses and healthcare organizations will have access to them in an accurate and timely manner since you are responsible for keeping it up-to-date.

It was time consuming I am not going to lie. As some point it asks for a history of employment of the last 10 years including explanations for inactive periods of employment. Since I was not 100% positive about the dates of my employment history I had to go through different companies and ask their HR departments. Then I also had to provide details about liability insurance and include proof.

Now I am having a professional take care of the rest. Hopefully I can provide an update soon regarding this matter. I am excited about being part of insurance panels but I know that it will come with its challenges like anything else. As I am in the learning process, I will embrace the uncertainty and learn as I go. Until next time, I hope you find what you're looking for.
