I Don't Work Miracles, I Walk Alongside Journeys

As a professional counselor, it's not that I'm overly picky, but I am very selective about who I believe I can genuinely work with.

I've worked with clients ranging from 10 to 86 years old. Not every goal is always reached, but I always bring my whole heart into the process. There have been moments when I’ve felt that no matter how much I want to help, I simply can’t perform miracles. Over time, though, I’ve realized that my role isn’t to perform magic, it’s to walk alongside, with integrity and presence.

These are the principles that have shaped my practice:

1. Building a strong and trusting therapeutic alliance. Without an authentic connection, it’s hard to move forward.

2. Teaching the “ABC’s” of mental health. We start with the basics, and from there, open the door to new ways of understanding and experiencing life.

3. Leading with heart in every session. I strive to make my clients feel that I’m truly there with them. I'm transparent, and when it can serve the process, I share some of my own experiences to help normalize theirs.

4. Normalizing emotions. It’s okay to cry, to be angry, to feel defeated… Feeling is part of being human.

5. Respecting their pace. I never pressure clients to share more than they’re emotionally or mentally ready to. Respect is non-negotiable.

6. Ending the process with intention. Graduation comes only when both of us feel it’s time. Sometimes there are still loose ends, but the goal was never to “heal 100%” because that’s not realistic. What is possible is to get unstuck, to begin the journey, and to learn to fly on their own wings.

I love seeing them take flight with determination. Not all reach that point, of course, but I hope—truly—that I’ve planted seeds of hope and strength. That they remember I was there, I listened, I saw them, and I held that space as they gathered the courage to move forward.
